The market is full of cheap knock-off imported gas tanks, so we urge you to be cautious in choosing your tank supplier.
98% of our Steel Gas Tanks and 100% of our Poly Gas Tanks are premium quality parts made by O.E.M Manufacturers in the USA and Canada. They are easily distinguished from low quality tanks imported from Taiwan and mainland China. All imported steel tanks are painted black. All North American made steel tanks are bright silver-metallic. If you are comparing prices, please compare “apples to apples”.
Imported tanks are bare, untreated metal inside and merely painted black outside. They have been known to rust inside during transit. North American made steel tanks are treated with a clear “three dip” rust preventative process inside and out. Imported tanks just do not meet the same rigid OE specs and can even pose fit & installation problems. Most are constructed of flimsy, thinner than OE gauge, steel. There's too much at stake to settle for a low quality gas tank! We also catalog a few steel gas tanks manufactured overseas ONLY if American or Canadian manufactured tanks are not available.
Our Heavy Duty Poly Gas Tanks are molded from very thick industrial-grade polymer materials. The compound is black, so please don’t confuse them with the black painted imported steel tanks we refer to above!.
